Labeling wires

Since I'm adding a fair bit of new electrical stuff to my car (relays, MSD box, FiTech, blah blah blah), I went looking for a way to label the new wiring with something a little neater than painter's tape and a Sharpie.  I came across a YouTube video for a guy who labeled the cockpit wiring on his home built plane with a Dymo LabelManager 160.  I followed his recommendation to use the Industrial ("IND") vinyl labels.   The labeler is only $23 on Amazon.  Like ink for a computer printer, the tape can be pricey for the Dymo brand stuff but cheaper knockoffs are available.  The font size of text printed on the label can be adjusted easily, along with switching between capitalized and lower case text.

The 1/4" heat shrink tubing he references will only work on 16 gauge or thinner wire. 

As the video suggests, I've found the "peel and stick" label tape to work well on unfinished and completed wires. I've ordered some of the 1/2" wide tape as it will probably work better on the heavier gauge wires

Nice! Will be invaluable to you when proving everything out now and years later when something faults and you are trying to remember what you did in 2020.
