I replaced all my 1157's / 1156   I'm still going to do the side markers. But take a look, seriously brighter! Take a look at the before and after pics

anlauto

Those are just the bulb replacements and not the fancy smansy circuit board type right ? I bought the replacement bulbs for the current resto-mod I'm building, I'm glad they work well and make that big of a difference... money well spent  :bigmoney:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Hey Bigs - that looks real nice!   Did you have to do anything with your turn signal flasher to get the LED bulbs to work right?  I thought I  read somewhere that the wires in the flasher have to be reversed.

I did the LED bulb swap in the side marked - really big upgrade there too.  My only issue was that the LED bulb had a slightly smaller diameter on the base. So I had to put a thin wrap of electrical tape around the top of the base so they didn't wiggle in the socket.

Very nice BIGS!  :bigthumb:
Did you do the front turn signals as well?

What brand or source did you get them from. I bought some 1157 LED's and they didn't work at all. No tail or signals. Incandescents work fine....

anlauto - just bulb replacement - very happy with the out come

Dakota - The amount of "flashes" if anything is only a percent or so higher . I saw no need to replace the flasher. I will be doing sidemarkers as well.

dodj - yes did the fronts too !  Way brighter !

Very impressive, you got me leaning towards swapping mine out too. I was always a bit hesitant because of the flasher issue and color selection. It's good to know that the bulbs in the link work with the factory flashers and they come in red and amber. Thanks for the post.

Scooter

Quite a few hits on that site for 1156.. which one's did you use?

BIGSHCLUNK

Scooter I actually used a boat/RV style bulb #67-W15

Purepony

Have you actually driven the car and made sure they work because I used some LED bulbs similar to those on my Camaro and everything worked on the car when it was not moving but as soon as I drove the car I started getting a few glitches like the turn signals wouldn't  come on the emergency hazards wouldn't work they just stopped working

tman

When I added LED's to my rear lights and front turn signals, I had to add LED compatible flasher.  No way it would work without it on mine.  Changed out 4 way and turn signal flashers.

dodj

I had to change the flasher to electronic as well.  Biggs may have an electing flasher already. Maybe installed previously?

Purepony - I have had her running, but did not go anywhere. We will see what the weekend brings - I will report any issues

dodj - yeah , who knows?  If they start going crazy I'll know what needs to be done
