On the '70 Rally dash fuel gauge you have 3 large hash marks with small hash marks in between. At each end of the scale is the E and F. When the gauge reads either full or empty is the needle pointing to the outside large hash marks or the E and F?

My gauge has never touched the 'F'.
Here's a Cody video that will show you how to test if interested

Thanks dodj. Cody only shows the movement of the non Rallye gauges. I've tested my sending unit and the gauge and both test fine. When I move the sending unit to the full and empty stops the ohms are correct but it moves the gauge way past the hash marks. I bent the float wire so the sweep of the gauge is equal on both sides of the half full mark on the gauge when the float wire hits the full and empty stops. The gauge is new and the sending unit is an after market unit. Now when the sending unit hits the stops the gauge needle is on the center of both the E and F. I was always under the impression that the large hash marks on either side of half full mark were meant to indicate either full or empty. But that doesn't seem to be the case at least on my Rallye gauges.
