I am a bit confused. I am fighting electrical issues. Can someone explain the side markers for me? The wiring diagram shows two bulbs, one for lamp and one for turn signal. I only have one bulb that seems to only be a lamp and not turn signal. It seems weird to not have a turn signal on the side of the fender. What am I missing?

Thanks
Tom

I can only speak for a 70 Challenger.   Side markers are lights only, not turn signals.

I think the problem is with your wiring diagram  :alan2cents: :brainiac:

@anlauto My book has the same diagram as this thread. I read the First diagram as having a fender lamp and turn signal lamp. Am I wrong?  https://forum.e-bodies.org/dlattach/topic=1349.0;attach=11757

@Dakota Thanks, that makes sense and confirms what I see.

@MoparLeo I know what I'm working on, just don't know all the details, It's been a LONG time since it has been running  :))

I think @MoparLeo meant it helps US to know what you are working on - you didn't mention what vehicle

It could be referring to the fender top signal light  :dunno:

I saw no mention or posting of wiring diagram until post#4.
According to that diagram the turn signals are the front and top of fender as it has always been.
A turn signal bulb would be a dual filament type bulb/socket.
If you want the side markers to also flash you will need to do some splicing...

@70_440-6Cuda Ah, that probably would help.  :-[ 1970 Challenger (Wester Sport Special)

@MoparLeo Ah, I didn't think about the turn signal on top of the fenders. I assumed that the side markers flashed to let people on the side know you were turning left.  Then I looked at the diagram and "confirmed" my faulty assumption. LOL. I have been bitten a few times by looking at the wiring diagram and trying to find something that was an option. No splice needed or wanted. Just trying to fix what I got.

Thanks for the help
Tom.
