I see a lot of mentions of Amp gauge removals when there are electrical issues.

My 73 Cuda has an ALT gauge, I had what seems like an alternator failure earlier tonight.

Could this be a part of the issue or does this only apply to a certain year range?

Thanks.

Yours definitely qualifies... Especially if you do an alternator upgrade...

So do you just unhook the Guage and connect the wires together?

Yup... And replace the gauge with a voltmeter... Feed the voltmeter off a switched source...

BTW if you need it I saw this on Ebay.....

Redline Gauge Works sells a tach and oil gauge that look stock and are nice alternatives to an alt or volt gauge.

But the tach or oil gauge don't help you monitor the electrical system status?

I'm doing the Nippon Denso 1:20 amp alternator conversion using a Mancini racing alternator adapter bracket
