I'm having a problem with my starter. Starts just fine on initial start. After driving it for about 30 min then parking it, when I go to start it again, it just clicks. After about an hour or so it will start up just fine. Any suggestions? Is it possible the solenoid is getting too hot from the header? I already replaced the relay and all the wiring from battery to relay to solenoid.

Sounds like heat soak to me. You could wrap your headers? I'm guessing it's an original type starter? My original style did as you describe. If it is you could swap over to the smaller high torque starter. I have not had heat problems with it although I also went to ceramic coated headers at the same time.

I'll try wrapping the header and see if that helps. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
