Cleaning up the trunk light on my 73 challenger, and I noticed there is no switch for the light.
How is the trunk light switched? The wiring harness is factory and goes to a plastic connector into the rear harness on top of the drivers rear wheel well area.
Just curious how this light should work.

My understanding is that there's a switch built into the socket.  I would call it a "mercury switch" but I don't know if it actually has mercury in it.   The switch closes when the deck lid is opened.
