Does any body know what the correct dipstick should be for a 1976 production date 440? Part number and measurements would be very welcome.
Will other production years fit, for example the 71-73.

I believe the hole in the block for the dipstick is the same for all the different years so a 70-71 dipstick should work fine and they are reproduced  :alan2cents:

They all fit into the block the same. The measurement of the top of the oil level in relation to the crankshaft is also the same so you just need a matched dipstick tube and dipstick. There are lots of aftermarket chrome and natural dipstick sets available. I always calibrate a new dipstick to make sure they are marked correctly.
