Hello guys,

We are running into another problem, with the engine this time. Well, it`s all ready to reassemble but, the head gasket ordered from rockauto, has it`s bore way larger than the cylinder bore.

Cylinder bore is 99mm
old head gasket that came with the engine is 102mm bore
the new gasket is 106mm bore which looks to leave too much room (see photo attached).

Can someone advise if this is the normal way to have the head gasket or i need a new one with smaller bore hole? If so, what`s the correct size and thickness?

That is normal for a generic Mopar small block head gasket.  These are designed to fit everything from a 273 (at 92mm) to a 340 bored at .060 over  (104.14mm).
The extra bore space will give up a small amount of combustion pressure, but not enough to notice at all.

 :iagree:
It will work OK , it will reduce the compression slightly .
