If your max available you are around 10 degrees advanced. Better than nothing but likely more avail if you had some marks or a dial light.

Yep the electronic setup is a worthy conversion for sure.  I've done it on the cheap before with a reman distributor and a 4 pin ecu from the parts store.  Got the 5 sided wiring from a parts car.  Now a days it's probably easier to get the mopar performance kit.  Just need to set the dizzy up right.  Don't trust that they come to you ready to go. 

318 2bbl is a nice steady motor.
