489 date codes

From the information I have been reading it would seem that Chrysler stopped building the 489 case in the 1974, right?
What do you think of this?
I bought this pumpkin at a swap meet and never checked the date code on the gears.

235th day of 1966? 

Or maybe 10,000 date code?  Would be about a 1967 or 1968.
