8 3/4 differential contact pattern

I'm trying to set up this gear set .This is the pattern with 041" total shim. I think it looks pretty good any advice would be appreciated.Thanks

I think you are pretty close but looks a hair too deep on the pinion, IMO.
I'd try subtracting a couple thou out of the pinion depth and re-run it and see if you can hit that perfect sweet spot.

How is the backlash?

Back lash is 008 to 009" I am now obsessed with this thing .I started all over and went back to the original shim and now the drive creeps all the way up to the top of the tooth and the coast starts fading off the toe.The original shim was 031" the pattern you saw was with 041 . I am going to try 036 the pattern was pretty much the same at 038 I will post pics at 036

Just so you know with my shim set I really don't have the capability to reduce in only a couple thousandth I have 3 012 and one 014 and one 019.I wish I could find a better selection

Yeah, that is a pain. Do a handful more and you'll have a bunch of spare shims.

From what you're posting I'm betting 38 or 36 will be right on.
