904 Shifting delay from 2nd to 3rd

When you convert from a 2 bbl 318 to any 4bbl manifold the linkages will be too short. The four barrel runs off of the front 2 barrels and the linkage is hooked to the forward end of the carburetor. You can't just adjust linkage that  has its geometry out of whack. You will probably be best off to go with a total new cable set-up. LoKar is very good and easy to adjust. As said before you will just burn up the trans if you haven't already done so. The kick down actually is what controls the lines pressures in side the transmission. Just like the throttle cable controls how much fuel goes into the engine.

Wow...ok. That geometry is way out of whack. At this point I would go with a cable system from bouchilon or lokar. A 4bbl rod won't help you here as you have a non stock setup that is much higher than the factory  setups. You would need to make a custom length rod for that to work.

The 3 piece kickdown has a lot more adjustability but way more movable parts but in the end is likely not long enough for your setup.

The throttle setup looks weird. For most Holleys and deep rocks there is a specific mopar adaptor that's bolted on to the throttle that you bolt the throttle stud to. That sets the attachment point further out towards the valve cover.  I would check to make sure you have full throttle travel there.

This is a simple bracket that i used from a local company (im in Australia).

It makes it so easy if you go four barrel, as i just did.

Dylo    Bracket looks very similar to the Lokar bracket. You also used the cable instead of the kick down linkage. Just what I was talking about.
Your carb looks like it needs the Edelbrock Mopar adapter so the throttle cable hooks up correctly.

There you go Leo!  That was the bracket I was thinking of for the carb. 

The throttle cable bracket above by dylo is ok.  Although I have seen issues as it attaches to the carb mounting stud at the SW corner and I've seen these adjust over time based on throttle usage. 

I really like the kits from AR engineering.  I had their high rise bracket on my 383 which had a mighty demon and the performer RPM on it with the bouchilon kickdown.  Very nice and easy and no more messing with cobbled together stock stuff.  They make kits for EFI setups too.  Here is there website:    https://arengineering.com/home-page/throttle-bracket-kits/

Those are nice looking brackets. The throttle return springs on Dylo's setup also need to be rerouted like the factory pictures show.
The springs should be pulling in opposite direction from each other. One top, one bottom and the top is normally attached to the end of the throttle cable.

Boy that's a very good point.  The issue being that the pulling force forcing the trans throttle back needs to be equal to the throttle travel.

Finally got  my new throttle bracket and new throttle cable and kickdown cable installed. This bracket seems very flimsy. Any suggestions on my install and bracket? I didn't clip the extra wire yet. I might get a different bracket.

That's not my actual setup, that's the manufacturers example. I have managed to use the factory spring return bracket on the front of the manifold which lines things up as you guys rightly mentioned.
