I'm currently rebuilding my A833 transmission out of my 70 Cuda.  When I got to disassembling the mainshaft and synchronizers, I noticed the strut springs were missing on both the 1-2 and 3-4 synchronizer assemblies.  From what I've read the function of the strut springs are to help keep the strut keys in place.  I found I can get replacement springs through Brewers Transmission, but since mine were missing, I don't know how the strut springs are installed (how they engage the strut keys, correct orientation, etc).  The Service Manual mentions the strut springs, but doesn't have any detailed pictures of them installed.

Anybody have any pictures that would show how the strut springs get installed?  I found the attached photo online from an article on a transmission rebuild, but it doesn't give me the full assembly detail that I'm looking for.
Thanks for the help.

One end hooks into the groove under the strut to keep it from rotating the rest of the spring just rides under the lip on the strut

Thanks Chryco Psycho.  I think the Service Manual mentions the second spring on the opposite side of the synchronizer hub should engage in a different strut key than used by the first spring.  Does that sound correct?  When I get my new strut springs I will assemble, take a photo, and post it to ensure I have it right.
