What gear oil are you running in an A833 trans?

GL4 gear oil 75-85 or Redline MTL
GL5 is too slippery  for the syncros

RUNCHARGER

Yes GL4, I can't remember what weight I think 75-95 or something like that.

I thought Chrysler OEM manual recommends ATF for several years of the 833?

I could be wrong though

I believe ATF is offered as an alternative in cold climates / winter use , I have always used gear oil though

Thanks @Chryco Psycho!  When I ordered the 4 spd kit from Brewers they included 85 W 90, but Jamie does not included gear oil so I am shopping for the best choice.

Redline MTL is probably the best choice but what you have there should work fine .

I've heard some have mixed gear oil with atf, anyone care to comment on this?

Cuda Cody

I've used Redline before and it was good.  I think I'm going to use Mobil 1 next time.  I like there stuff a lot.
