Anyone having trouble fitting Right Stuff trans lines?

Hello, I have a 74 Barracuda with a 440/727. I had to remove the trans lines to do some other work and since the lines weren't original I ordered a replacement set from Right Stuff. The longer line that attaches to the rear port on the trans fit fine without any major adjustment. The shorter line would not mate up no matter how I tried and seemed to be 1-2" too long.

I called Right Stuff and asked if they could give me a measurement to compare. Tip to tip, the line I had was 41 3/4" and the tech on the phone told me it should be around 40" and change. I had another line sent out and the new one is just as long as the old one. Is anyone else having this issue? I bought the same lines 20 years ago for another project and they had fit just fine. The pn for the set is ETC-7002 which is listed for a big block e-body (https://www.getdiscbrakes.com/etc7002). There is no obvious place to bend the line to fit better, but I have two now so I guess I can experiment.

Thanks

All I'm going to say when it comes to pre-bent manufactured steel lines....." The Right Stuff".....is not so right  :-X

I will add that my Fine Lines weren't so fine.  Not only that they didn't respond to a tech email I sent them.

I got their fuel line. It was pretty close, but not perfect. The flair I thought was a bit unusual, and was huge. I was thinking of getting their tranny line, but now I don't know.

Is it useable or just completely wrong? I don't mind a little tweak here or there.

The Fine Line tranny lines are usable.  They are mostly correct, but needed some bending to get them to clear my shift linkage brackets.

It's off by more than an inch in length, I'd say close to 1 1/2". I'll have to try to add some bends to soak up the extra and hope I don't collapse the tube. I could have kinked my own home bent lines for less.

Just a follow up, I did get the second line to fit by exaggerating about 4-5 bends to soak up some length. The angle on the trans end fitting was also off by a decent amount and had to be corrected. The are installed but do not follow each other as they should, sort of a crappy setup. Buyer beware.

Right stuff does not fit that well, most bends are OK. I have exactly the same setup 440 and 727. Got a bender and flaring tool to customize the fit. Need the tools for brakes anyway. Original lines were cracked and patched with rubber hose and clamps  :looney:
