I used an O-ring one and as expected no issues.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm going to try the Billet Specialties O ring housing I just bought, hopefully it will do the job.

If I have issues I'll try the one suggested.
For those using the aluminum one what brand/part number gasket and sealer are you using?

Thanks.

This is what I use.

I bought the one from Milodon PN 65735. They just came out with them. I like the flange design. Its not as thick as the others (oring) and looks more OE. Its also billet al. No gasket used just Permatex Right Stuff

I've got the BT housing with o-ring. I haven't run the engine with it yet but it looks like a great piece. The housing doesn't hold the thermostat tight like the stock housing does. The stat moves around a little even after the housing is tight. I don't know if that will cause any issues.

Thanks for all the replies and gasket information.

I've been battling a few pesky leaks(oil from valve covers, coolant and tranny fluid) and worked on a couple of them over the weekend.

I installed the Billet Specialties housing and have run the car a couple times with no leaks. (fingers crossed)

I installed the housing with no sealant, just the O ring, it seem to snug down and seal real nice.

I used a Mr. Gasket high flow thermostat, it seemed to fit in the hosuing well with just a tiny bit of movement, I haven't noticed any isuues.

I did pick up a brand new factory type thermostat housing at the Nats last weekend so if I have any leaks that will be plan C.

I was also able to get the cheapie stamped chrome valve covers sealed up using Permatex black sealant under the gaskets and letting them dry for a couple days.

Next up is a leaky transmission dipstick tube.....

I'm using Summit's version, probably the same one.

I'm having trouble getting the tube/grommet inserted straight into the transmission case when it is bolted to the block and it's leaking around the grommet.

I also might have the transmission fluid level too high.

I'll start another thread....
