What difference does the number of blades make on a clutch fan? Of course, pitch makes a difference on air flow. For an 18" blade fan, would 6 vs 7 blades makes a difference?
I'm installing a Hayden 2797 clutch with a shroud, so just want to make sure I use the correct blade for it - from what I can see some are running the Flex-A-lite 18" (6 blades) and others the Hayden 18" (7 blade). I have a 440 motor and a 26" aluminum rad.

More blade + more air flow typically But Mopar sold a 5 blade that flows as much as 7 due to blade design & pitch etc  so 6-7 should be about equal as well

If you care about "correct" you want a seven blade "216" fan... If you want what Chrysler claims is the best at moving air & not wasting fuel/horsepower you want one of the five blade designs that MP use to sell...
