Supposedly out of an early 1968 Charger.

do you have a picture of the casting date?

I would suppose the vin stamp pad would be blank since it's a 68.

I haven't had a chance to see the complete engine yet.

Would it be possible for this engine to have original 915 closed chambered heads?

1968 performance engines/transmissions have partial VIN stampings by the oil sending unit port near the parting line  :takealook:

GrandpaKevin

Thanks guys.

For some reason I keep coming across 1968 440 engines.

This is the one I had rebuilt for my wife's car.

NO! but it was an inexpensive way to get more compression "back-in-the-day"

 :iagree:
915 closed Chambers were 67 Only , I have used 516 heads ported with larger valves a lot also with great results .
D = 68
E = 69
F = 70
