clutch spring pin?

is there different size clutch spring pins? I've seen two sets of ebody pedals 70-71 and they have different size pins. one set has the same size ends that connect to the brackets and the other has one end smaller? would one be early 1970?

I would contact Brewers , everything almost was different for 70

looks like a 70 has it's own pin. does anyone have a 1971 they can measure so we can have one machined?

would the spring itself be the same for 70 and 71 or would those be different as well

cause I can have it today if I have the measurement and it would be free. I'll order one if I cant get the measurements. I just dont want to wait two weeks to get it

 I have a spring and pin for a 71 E-body out and  hanging on wall in my shop. Do you want me to make a drawing of it and post here. I'm a machinist by trade and know the measurements you need.

Better make sure you make the pin out of some strong material, lots of rotating stress between the spring and pin.

My original pin looked like this.

70 Challenger Lover

I just rebuilt my pedal set and my old pin had quite a bit of wear where the spring rode. So much so that I think it was the cause of an old clunk sound as the pedal reached the very end of travel (when my foot came off).

I ordered the 1970 version from Brewers but they sent me the 1971 version instead. It worked fine. I think the 1970 bracket has a round hole but the later years used an oblong hole where the smaller end of the pin fit in.

I agree with Alan though that it hardly seems worth the effort to make one when they sell for $20.00

My clutch pedal popped and creaked going in and out which is why I first looked at the pin thinking it just needed greased. The hook end of the spring was riding up and down the groove it made on the pin every time the clutch pedal went in and out.
The new pin fixed the problem.

I agree it would be easier to buy it for 20 dollars, and I would buy it if it was only 20 bucks. By the time I get it up here to Canada and have it shipped it will be about 40 American,  with our dollar in the tank. That 20 dollars American turns into a 55 dollar Canadian. My friend is a machinist by trade and is happy do whip one up. not a hard piece to make, plus its 5 min down the road

 Drawing sent to email. I agree, the pin is a hard material but softer than the spring so the pin wears out first. It is at least as hard as a B-8 bolt. A file used on it barely scratches it. Good luck.
