Hyd flat tappet or solid flat tappet???

Solid. Hands down.

Word out there is Hydraulic Hemi lifters aren't as good as they once used to be made.

I did 3 adjustments in 3,000 miles and it hasn't gotten noisy again since.
That's about right from what I was told.

Get the Johnson EDM lifters.

So with the johnson edm lifters i cam reuse my valve springs comp 916-16 thats already installed? Since they say the edm solid takes more spring preassure?

There is a range , so a cam has a spec & there is a wiggle room on spring pressure so if the cam suggests a spring in the range your spring pressure is go for it .

Topcat

Exactly.  :bigthumb:

My Cam probably has a range to use the specific valve Springs from .500-.550. Perhaps more.

There does become a threshold where the Cam requires you break in the engine with weaker springs. Then take those off and then put in the stiffer Springs needed for long term usage after break in.

Consult with your machinist or Cam vendor to determine break in spring rates.

More lift and then go up grade is the rule of thumb.

Also...Don't Forget! Go Beehive design springs on exhaust side

I hoped i could leave the springs in it as is... im not going to take the heads of it.

Springs can be changed with heads on.
