I looked at a TA yesterday and was going over the numbers on the car. The drivers side exhaust manifold did not have the casting number where I could see it. Seller told me that the casting number is not visible on a real TA driver side exhaust manifold. I looked at an AAR and on the driver side exhaust manifold there is a pentastar and a number visible. What is correct?

Thanks

I believe the standing wisdom is that the manifolds cast during the timeframe that AAR/TAs were being produced had the casting numbers stamped (not embossed) and located in a different place.  I personally don't think it was anything specific to AAR/TAs, just a manufacturing variation during that timeframe.  I am sure there are people more knowledgeable than me who can confirm, disprove, or explain.

I have a D/S manifold of each type and can post pics in a bit.

Here is a few pictures of a set off an AAR I had.
