Harmonic balancer bolt

This is a pic of my harmonic balancer bolt as it looks right out of the engine. Car has 44000 miles. Did the factory use some sort of thread sealer? I found this on most of the timing cover bolts. What was the factory using? Or do you all think someone else used this?

Definately Not factory , it has been apart before .

Looks like silicone to me? Not sure why someone would use it on a crank bolt? If it's leaking out of there you got bigger problems!

Ugh ya I just removed the timing cover.... Someone definitely went crazy with the silicone

Nylon gear ?

Nope. Double chain. Someone replaced it before but used a lot of silicone to put it back together.... Or it just looks bad to me.
