Help Diagnosing Clutch Noise

I am getting a high pitch squealing noise when releasing clutch.  It is particularly noticeable when engaging clutch in first gear (or reverse) but will occur in other gears too. It disappears when the clutch is fully engaged.   It does not appear to be a typical throw out bearing grinding noise that you might hear when engaging clutch.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to diagnose this further.   Thanks!

I had an 833 where the whole input bearing would intermittently spin within the bearing retianer, instead of staying locked. It gave a scary loud squeal.

My guess would be the pilot bearing if it doesn't do it when your foot is off the clutch.

I agree with Rich G.  A squealing/whirring noise with the clutch pedal depressed that goes away when the clutch pedal is released and is at the top portion of its travel is a classic sign of a bad pilot bushing.
