Hi,

I need some help purchasing a new oil pan for my 70 Cuda project. I acquired a brand new Red Eye crate engine and also a 4000 mile old Hellcat 8HP90 transmission. The story is that I have just perfectly installed 5.7 Hemi with 8HP70 onto this project.

1) I understand the 6.2 engine should fit onto the same engine mounts and the transmission size should be the same too?
2) Since the 6.2 comes with front oil sump setup and I have currently already installed a 302-60 Holley Gen III Hemi Swap Oil Pan which works nicely and the steering rack also fits perfectly in front of the oil sump. Holley claims that this pan does not fit the 6.2 engine. I wonder if this is true and if it is - do you think ordering this one would work just as well as it currently does on the 5.7 engine? Since I am doing all this in Europe I just don't want to order expensive parts for trial and error. The market for these here is tough.

Here are some pictures of the current setup:

I'm guessing the 6.2 has some difference in the windage/baffling around the crank.
Why don't you pull the pan you already have and see if you can make it work?

Thanks. The 5.7 is currently still on the car and they'd have to remove it before I can pull the pan. I thought I'd order the new pan already so it would be ready to put the 6.2 in ASAP. I have checked the drawings now that I just found on Holley site. There seems to be only a minor difference in the front side of the pan. I am guessing it won't work with the old one I have... The timing cover is different to accommodate the blower drive and consequently the front oil pan bolt spacing is different. Holley is correct that pan will not fit. You need a 6.2L specific pan.

Thanks, really appreciated. I'm gonna put in the order for the new pan.

Before I order - does anyone know if the pan https://www.holley.com/products/engine/oil_pans/engine_swap_oil_pans/parts/302-64BK meant for Hellcat 6.2 works for Red Eye 6.2 also?

And do I need to order the specific Holley oil dipstick for correct measurement?
