Holley 750 # 80508S - anyone have any reviews?

The 340 based 416 currently has a 650 edelbrock 1806 on it and I absolutely hate it. It's jetted to high heavens and I hate dealing with all of the metering rods and crap. It was put on by the previous owner. I'm a holley guy. I am considering a 750 from holley, specifically the 80508S http://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/street/parts/0-80508S

The car is mostly street driven, cam is definitely not aggressive, redline is around 5500. I want vacuum secondary's and electronic choke. I think this is a good fit.

Anyone else running this carb?

I'd suggest considering something with adjustable bleeds. Proform, Quickfuel.

What air cleaner are you using?
Also I have a 3310 Holley 750 sitting here doing nothing if you want to try it?

Stock air cleaner (its a 1970 Duster)

I have bought the proform carb before and i assume it worked great? It has so much adjustability that I'm not great at tuning them. I like the simplicity of the Holley.

I'm not sure if there will be clearance issues with a stock air cleaner?  Your welcome to try my 3310? I rebuilt it years ago and its been sitting on my shelf not being used?  It will cost you a large double double?  Are you by Barrie anytime?  It's this one but not shiny, just the greenish color? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-0-3310s

Ohh man I appreciate it Brad that's a very generous offer! I'd be all over it if it was an electric choke. I do appreciate it though, I would have gladly driven from Ottawa to get it.  Speaks to your car hobby community spirit that's for sure!

In terms of clearance I think it should be fine. I have ran a Holley carburetor on my 72 Challenger and 74 Challenger without issues. I think this is a pretty common swap? I might ask the a-body guys to answer that question.

...but I prefer the folks on e-bodies!

I would still choose the Proform over the Holley , cheaper cost & run better .

That actually sounds pretty perfect for a mild build, I might be interested in it for my 440 that only sees street driving.

PS: the calculation for carb cfm that Holley & Summit use is interesting, obviously no one follows that guidance. according to it my 440ci x 5500rpm x .85street / 3456 barely needs a 600cfm carb! thoughts?

This calculator was what made me spend my last driving season trying to get this Edelbrock 650 to work. Everyone will have an opinion but I can re-assure you my 416 is asking for more carb. The 750 is going to be mint.

I agree @72 Challenger, I had a 650 on mine for a while and it wasn't enough. I currently have an Edelbrock Performer 750 which is OK for my "mild" build but always thinking there is something better!

So I just bought this one - ProForm 67208. I am surprised, and a bit frustrated trying to choose a duel inlet fuel connector for it, you'd think the performance stores would recommend one with the purchase but no and everyone uses different terms & measurements (and lots have really bad reviews). So for now I will see if an old one I have off a Holley double pumper will fit but I really want something not chrome.

BTW: I prefer Mancini (an all Mopar shop) so started there but my order was cancelled the next day as out of stock. So went with Summit which said they were in stock on their website, and it arrived 2 days later!!! I'm in Houston so assume they have a warehouse near here, pretty sweet. Also got a new fuel pump while I'm doing all this.
