How Screwed Am I? A Freeze Plug Story

I remember doing the quick fix on the side ones on a big block. Spend the extra to buy a block heater, that way you could mount it in there and tighten the center nut on them much easier than trying to pound a frost plug in straight.

With the right tools plugs go in straight pretty easy, even when you have nothing close to straight access...

Yes they sell a driver that centers the plug, assures the plug is driven to the proper depth & allows you to drive the plug from some surprising angles & still drive the plug straight....  On some plugs I use my air hammer, knocks them in straight very quickly, works great...
