HP 383 stock with Holly 750. Jetting ?

HP383 Eldebrock "stock" intake and hp exhaust manifolds.  4 speed.

I have a Holley 750 dual feed, double pump with mechanical secondary. Everything works fantastic with great response, starting etc etc. But the plugs are black and rear valance shows a little black from tips which are also both equally black. Carb has jets etc just as it came from factory. Anyone give me a baseline to start on for leaning it down.

I assume you have set the float levels correctly & the power valve is rated properly , I would step down 2 sizes at a time you will feel the difference as power will increase , once it goes lean the response will go away .

Yup: If it feels pretty good now I bet 2 sizes down will really get it close.
