Mr Cuda

Obviously there is interest in this part. We've all seen the wanted posts.
At $60 each as an opener, plus cad,  I would want another bid.
I will take a fitting to my shop that I work for/with (I'm a vendor) and at least get a verbal bid.
Then we will at least have one comparison.
But the quantity needs to be higher than 60 if you run them. 60 is 20 sets.
 Maybe 500?
The work is all in the program. The cnc will whip out 1,100, 1000, 10,000

avatar_Mr Cuda @Mr Cuda as you know better than me that the majority of the cost is in the program. That's why they even brought up the idea to get multiple made to make it worth while.

I would appreciate it if you could at least get a verbal price. So I could compare.

There's one other CNC shop that I know of that might take on small little projects that I can try and get a bid from. But I don't know if they would do one off small little projects like this.

Has there been any progress in the reproduction of the fuel inlet fitting discussed in this thread?  I am interested in purchasing a set.

Mr Cuda

I provided my information to 440ehigh after the last post.
I will leave it to him to work his contacts and decide if he wants to go into the fuel fitting business.
The numbers would have me asking all of you how much pain you can bear for 3.
My car will run fine with the wrong fittings.

I would be in for 2 sets, possibly 3, even at $60 each.  But I would be curious howuch the price changes for a run of 500
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

Nicklas Larsson, a well known Mopar guy from Sweden, has a picture of fuel inlet fittings on his Facebook page.  He was gracious enough to tell me the fittings were made by a carburetor restoration shop in Sweden.
Website: carbguy.com/.  Email address: carbguy.kvidinge@gmail.com  I have no other details at this time.
4 @440ehigh did you ever find an affordable source for these fittings?

440ehigh

avatar_mtull @mtull thanks for the contact info I'll reach out to him I've seen Nicklas products he's listed for sale before but never had any contact with him.

I actually have family in Sweden.

But no I couldn't find any place cheaper everyone said the same thing the main cost is setting up the program for the CNC machine. Then cheap after that but the initial cost was too high for me to justify. For a small run of fittings.

I'll be interested to hear what you find.  I can now attest to how well those style fittings work.  I put a set on my car awhile back and have been doing some carb work recently.  I could get to all three fittings when using this style flare nut wrench.

That's good to hear I figured they would be. On the 1 I have it was a lot easier to get too.
I remember when the CNC shop asked why I was wanting to make these I told him they made it easier to work on it wasn't just for looks.

So I want to give some information on the fuel fittings from Sweden. They are very reasonable priced.
The biggest issue is they won't ship to U.S. due to customs and all that. They will ship to Europe if you know someone there or someone in Sweden.

I was hoping to help out the members on the forum that have been so helpful and order multiple sets to get sent here.

Because I have a family member in Sweden that is going to mail me a set.
But due to custom restrictions he can only mail me one set and it avoids customs. Since it's considered a gift from a private person to another.

If anyone is interested I can post detailed pictures of the fittings once I receive them.

Thank you for the update.  Did they elaborate on what the customs issues are?

"Importing goods from Sweden to the U.S. involves restrictions on certain items like firearms, illegal drugs, and counterfeit products, while all shipments are subject to duties and taxes unless they meet specific exemptions like a bona fide gift under $100. Proper documentation like commercial invoices and potentially a customs bond (for formal clearance) is required depending on the shipment's value and nature."

"Exemptions:
- Bona fide gifts: Gifts valued at or less (if sent from individual to individual) are exempt."

I'm going to attach a picture of what they said themselves sounds like it's just not worth it to them.
I told them how much they are needed in the U.S.

I think since they are a business they would have to deal with all the proper documentation like commercial invoices like you stated.

And we got it so I fall under that exemption of a gift valued less then $100.

Because I really wanted to get a few sets to help other members out that have helped me and like you avatar_mtull @mtull that gave me the contact information.

Once they arrive and look as good in the pictures maybe I can get a set here and there next year. Or if my family member comes back to Nebraska next year maybe he can bring multiple sets with him.

I see.  Sad for us in the states but understand their position.  I may be up for adoption to a nice Swedish family next year :lookatthat:  I'm glad you'll at least be getting a set.  Congratulations.

440ehigh

I know it's frustrating because they are much needed here.

If it wasn't for you avatar_mtull @mtull i wouldn't be getting a set so thanks for the help. I'm going to try the beginning of next year to see if I can get a set or 2 mailed over or see if any family is heading over to Sweden to visit and see if they can bring some back.

You are very welcome.  I'm just happy to be of some use to the forum.
