find it hard to believe that a 500 cu in 1971 440 block would grenade at 800 hp, as easy as
they are making it.

440 blocks have a reputation of being okay to 600HP.

Actually the casting can be machined as a wedge or a Hemi, but once machined it well always be what it was machined as, you can't unbolt your wedge heads & slap on Hemi heads...

Bummer  I deal with Mike and Eric when I bought my stroker kit from them. I see from that Moparts post the block is still available though.
