I had a broken motor mount not too long ago. I didn't even know it was broken. Fortunately the hood was off when I was test driving it and I could watch the motor rise and fall.

Sounds to me like the guy who installed the clutch didn't resurface the flywheel and it's shuddering as the car gets rolling.

Yes,  I also feel it will be clutch related. Thanks for the helpful comments.

I should not have mentioned the transmission noise in this topic but was just wondering if those gears have any sort of adjustment in their position or once its winning its a change of parts almost assured?
If parts are needed, what would be a good place to order them?

Manuel, don't be in such a hurry to spend your money! The trans in these cars will whine somewhat no matter what you do; as do most 60's vintage manual shift cars. Here's a suggestion- find someone you know and trust, that has extensive experience with manual shift cars and let him try your car out. If the problem is there for him, too, then at least you've eliminated yourself as a component of the problem.
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

Thx Jimy,

For sure got to find a good mechanic again. This last one was a pain.
