K-Member identification location

Hello everyone, I am in the process of a total restoration of my 70 Cuda. Can anyone tell me where I can find the ID location on the K-member.

There should be a small round or oval "coin" on the front with a 2 digit number stamped in it.  That will be the K-Member part number.  There is also a very small 4 digit number stamped near it.  Those small numbers is the date.  The date will be like 3229 = 322nd day of 1969.

I've seen a lot of 440+6 with double coins.

The difference being in the position of the motor mounts and or strength of the K member??

I just looked at the two I just got back from the media blaster....Both believed to be the originals, both from 70 Challengers. One has a coin, the other does not.
The one with the coin is out of a "U" code 440 car, the other a 383 car.

Position of motor mounts, whether there was a skid plate installed or not and any extra bracing one might of had.  I don't think it's an E-body thing but 340 A-bodies had extra material added around the LCA pivot hole.  /6 and 318 cars didn't get this extra piece.

I'm guessing the vendor filled the order with whatever was available...I've seen same part number K frames with/without the coin...Sometimes the coin covered a different part number and apparently  the coin was added after the modification to the new specs for that number ..There's also different shaped coins...I've seen round and oval coins... Cody's pic shows a coin welded on a coin...Here's one with the coin welded along side an existing coin...I've also seen the coins welded on either left or right side of the k frame center point...

I've seen a lot without coins as well.

They were ink stamped with the same numbers as the coins. Probably a different vender.

I just put my engine back on the K frame today and mine has a coin on the front side.  It's a '70 440.
