Which pistons are recommended for the Trick Flow 240 CNC 78CC :notsure:

Brads70

I think you will need to clarify what compression ratio you are looking for ? Street engine? Drag engine? Are you building a 440 with stock rods and crank? Lots of variables to consider/answer .

Anders Mets

Yes that's correct.
It's A streetcar, the short block is original (except for the pistons) and in very good condition, I have 11,5:1 - 12,0:1 in compression ratio today and want to keep this level.
I'm a bit curious about what they recommend, I suspect that existing pistons will touch exhaust valve.

you can put some putty on the piston , assemble the head on the block with a used gasket & tun the engine over to see how close you are , the intake valve is usually closer

11.5 or 12-1 compression ratio should have valve reliefs in the pistons now. I guess we don't know what brand of pistons are in it now? Chrycos method is the best way to see what's what. This 11.5-12-1 is a bit hard to achieve with a stock stroke 440 and off the shelf parts, what are the current heads?

Heads are Trick Flow which I have yet to work with
not sure what cam & rocker he wants to use tho

11.5 to 12 compression ratio is still kinda high for aluminum heads and pump gas.

So if you are running 12 and using aluminum heads effectively you are running about 11 which at our ever dwindling octane levels will keep you buying VP or Sunoco all day long.

What heads are currently on the car, have they been cut, and do you know the head cc?

I've never really heard if a Chrysler head mfg really recommending a piston unless you're dealing with certain B1s.
