@Chryco Psycho Just a question for my own knowledge:

Why does opening up the plug gap help? When should you know to do this? I am not to experienced with engine building but have always kept the factory spark plug specs.
Someday I will have a J0b.

Any coil will only create the minimum power to jump the gap so increasing the gap makes a hotter / higher power spark + it will increase exposure of the spark to the fuel , anytime you have difficulty getting fuel to burn , high compression , poor fuel mix due to long duration cams etc it will help to create the burn vs dumping unburnt fuel into the exhaust  . You do need to make sure you have a high output coil that is up to the task of continually building higher enough voltage to create the hotter spark .
