The Black pan is a deep sump race pan / aftermarket the deep sump has hit the ground a few times too . the blue one is more correct but my not be the exact correct pan for the application .

The one on the right looks like what is in my "74" -360LA.

My main concern is making sure that the windage tray will fit with the blue one.

Need to check the curved ends to see if they are 318/340 or the larger 360 design

What's the number stamped on the blue pan? that will tell you the application pretty quick :alan2cents:

 :rubeyes: looks like "294" ??

394 = 1968-'69 273, 318 & 340
294 = 1970-'72 318 & 340
228 = 1973-'74 318 & 340

Are any of these more desireable or all the same?
