If someone has a picture of how this is installed, I'd appreciate seeing it.  Couldn't find anything via Google.  I'm getting down to bottom of my parts boxes and want to put this on.  It looks like a "bend to fit" deal, so I'd like to get this right on the first shot. Thanks.

I've never seen one.  I have two A833's on the shelf and neither have one.  The only pic I found was on Brewer's site.  It just has a gentle bow in it.  A quick call might confirm if nothing else comes in.

You kind of bend it as you slide it in. It should be pretty obvious if you look inside the tailhousing.

Thanks for the replies.

I was just reading a post on FABO about the vent tube and saw that important word "inside" when discussing the baffle, just before checking back here and seeing it again.   It's supposed to be under the vent tube.  Don't know why, but I had it in my head that that plate was on the outside of the tranny.   Since this unit was rebuilt by Passon Performance, I'm not going worry about the baffle any longer.

And one more part goes into the "sell it later" box.

So I assume the plate is inside your tailhousing already ?
You just flex it & slide it in & it snaps into place

Yes.

I just came across this diagram from the Factory Service manual.  I'll post here as well in the unlikely event that someone else gets confused about this the way I did.   The baffle is item #24 in the tailshaft.

I am currently rebuilding my A833 trans, and have pictures of the baffle installed if your still interested.  Let me know, and I will post them.

It would be great if you could post a picture so that there's a record of it for future reference.  I couldn't find one on the internet anywhere.  Thanks!

Attached are pictures of the baffle installed in an A833 4 speed transmission out of a 1970 Cuda.  I assume the baffle is installed in the tail shaft housing to protect the breather from being exposed to gear oil being flung from the rotating shaft.  In other words it is intended to keep the breather from leaking oil.

Thanks for posting all the pics Gary.    This thread, and especially your pictures, may serve as a good reference for someone in the future.
