Here's what the small block cooler bracket looks like.

Cuda Cody

This is from a 340 T/A.  Might help determine what it is or is not.

the originally posted cooler is for a SAGINAW pump as used on 383 & 440

@Floyd  & @Cuda Cody  pictured the correct 340 & HEMI FEDERAL unit

the numbers stamped on the brackets are 4-digit dates - 3-digit day of 1-digit year (012th day of '70, 021st day of '70, 040th day of '70, etc.) & a 5-digit vendor number * 21042

I never knew that 383's could come with a power steering cooler.

My car also has a stock PS cooler.  I had it out last year.  It comes with the A36 Performance axle package which mine has with the 3.55 SG.  For 73 whoever ordered my chally they weren't giving up yet on the emissions era!   :burnout:

Does anyone know what power steering hose is supposed to be used for this?  I have tried 3 different types and none of them work for this application.  It seems like the federal pump with the cooler was a rare option.

Thanks Topcat.  Unfortunately that's not the one I'm after.  I'm looking for the pressure feed hose.

I've been looking for a pressure hose for my HEMI recreation with federal pump and power steering cooler for over a year now. No luck yet.

I have the stock one I believe.  I'd be happy to donate it to someone if they can make a new one!

Any hydraulic shop should be able to crimp new hose onto the original ends.  The hose may not look like a factory hose but you'd at least have a new hose that fits.
