Hi guys  ;)

Someone could tell me if on a 727 TORQFLITE automatic transmission, there is a screw too full of oil.

Gradually discovering my car (bought a month ago), the oil level is well above the maximum of the high level.

Oil runs in the front of the automatic trasmission, leak or only level too high?  :o

Thank you for your answers  :thankyou:

Are you checking it while warmed up and running in park?

No, with the motor cold.

check it hot, in neutral. I pull the dipstick out, wipe it down, and put it back in all the way down, than pull it back out and see were it's at.   :alan2cents:

:iagree:   He's right in neutral , it will always read high cold with engine off.

:iagree:  Several reasons to always warm up and check it in neutral while engine is running...

When engine is not running, the torque converter can drain back into the transmission, giving false 'high' readings...

In park and checking, the transmission is not circulating oil to refill torque converter, cooling lines, etc... (unless a valve body mod has been done - mine circulates in park and neutral)

The fluid level goes up as the transmission temp rises - expansion of the fluid is normal as it warms up to operating temperatures...

Thought you would appreciate the 'why' for the recommendations provided... I learned the same way! Someone kind enough to explain the why!

Agree: Must be checked warm, idling in neutral.

Thank's all for explanations, next week-end I will try it.  :bigthumb:

Position neutral, moteur at normal temperature.

With moteur stop and cold, oil level in the transmission is around 2 cm above the max level.

This forum is really interesting because I learn a bunch of advices and explinations.  :worship: :worship:

The dipstick should have the directions stamped on it but in English
