secure dip stick tube

My engine oil dipstick is loose and comes out way to easily. Is there an o-ring for these, and if so would any o-ring that fits work? If not what do others do to secure it? I saw some references to using RTV. Any reason not to use RTV? Was it pressed in from the factory?

I used some shrink tubing used for electrical connections.  I bought a variety pack with different diameters.  Installed about 5 year ago and still working fine.

There is no o-ring on the dipstick tube, it's suppose to be a tight friction fit only.
