Yeah you heard me right. Is something missing from my shaker outer ring. There doesn't seem to be any tack-welded cage nuts for the shaker dome mounting bolts to attach to. Any suggestions? What should it look like?

yes you are missing the weld nuts, to hold your shaker bubble and those holes look way to big

And the nuts are not put on with any specific orientation.

Some of those adapter rings slipped out of Fram without the nuts being welded on.
The late Gary Rollins of Rapid Transit Warehouse days in Mi had a stack of them at one time.
The 10-24 nut on the left is what you are missing 7 of.
Chrysler used them on lots of other small item applications

I think Terry will tell you that there was a batch made missing the nuts....He may have actually been selling them at one time

Maybe @Chryco can help you out now....

I know I had to deal with this when I restored a 1971 V code Cuda for Kevin Suydam, I reluctantly just used regular nuts underneath at the time. :headbang:

Yes Alan...I had some of them in the Fram haul that did not have the nuts welded on.
Steve you may have got that one from me way back when, or through others that had them.

Anyone have a source for those special nuts with the circular locating ridge?

Chryco

I think maybe the shaker set-up I bought from you in the late 1980's had missing nuts, or you offered one with missing nuts cheaper  I don't know...that was a life time ago :tired:

Thanks Tommy.
This site is awesome. Now if I can find some original headlight bucket stainless trim, I can finish the front end!
(I put an alert in the wanted section here today).
