Put the drivetrain back together after rebuilding the transmission about 1 1/2 years ago and have had a slighty sticky pedal since, mainly when first pushing it in. I`ve been meaning to look into it but put i off as it wasn`t that bad, well last night it got a lot worse and was really sticking so I need to fix it. I`m pretty sure I put a little grease on the input shaft when I assembled it but maybe not enough? Anything else to look at that would cause it? I have stock linkage set up with a Centerforce clutch.

I`m going to check the z-bar  bushings while I`m under there.

Z-bar bushings look fine but I think throw out bearing is bad as it wobbles a bit, I took a video but can`t upload it. I just put in a new one when I put it back together last spring so has maybe a couple thousand miles on it.

When you say the pedal is sticking, do you mean it's staying on or close to the floor after it's depressed and you remove your foot?  If so, do you still have the supper large return spring on the clutch assembly under the dash.  If you do, remove it.  It's common with modern clutches for that spring to not allow the clutch pedal to return.  Mine did the same thing.  I removed the spring and I've never had an issue since.  There are a few threads on here about that issue.  If that's not what you're talking about, then disregard above.   :bigthumb:

NO it`s not staying on the floor or down at all but sticking when I depress and release it throughout the travel. I have a Centerforce with the big spring removed and a very light spring to hold the pedal up.

Pedal pivot binding?
Over the years I have had nothing but trouble with CForce clutches , I would not put one in my lawnmower !

Pivot bushings look good and move smoothly with fork rod disconnected. I`m on my second Centerforce after 20+ years of seriously abusing the first one with zero issues untill it finally wore out.

I saw your video on FB... Any chance that a bearing with a larger bore was used?
There is a larger one for the 440 & 426 cars than the rest from what I'm seeing  :alan2cents:

I bought it and as far as I remember it went on smooth and fit well.

Rich G.

You mentioned the throw out bearing wobbles, are the finger's bent on the pressure plate?

torredcuda

So it`s fixed - for now anyways. I put it all back together with no new parts due to it being put into daily driver service as of yesterday with my truck in for transmission service. The clutch is now working smoothly with no sticking so the only thing I can figure is maybe one of the clips popped off the fork? A few guys mentioned my fork looks worn after seeing my pics and I should get a new one so I`ll order that, the bearing will have to live for now as I`m not taking the transmission out to change it right now.
