Throttle Cable Bracket

Anyone know what this throttle cable bracket is for?

Looks like my kick-down/throttle bracket on my small block 73... mounts to the intake on driver's side rear... the two holes on the front hold a 'U' shaped bar that the kickdown arm bolts to, and the stud mounts the throttle cable...
