I finally install my engine and trans in my Challenger last Sunday, but I notice that I can push the transmission left and right quite easily.  Should the trans move, or is my new mount bad?

Mine will move a small amount quite easily.  But not very far.

What type of mount ? Poly or rubber ?The center sleeve should be moulded into the mount fairly ridgid

Pulled it back out, I am guessing it should not be able to come out like this.

Mine doesn't move easily at all. Poly at trans and rubber at motor with torque restraint.
Are your transmission bolts to bell housing and bell housing bolts to block tight?

ksierens

Yes, everything is tight, the problem is the rubber is moving in the housing. Do the poly mount create more vibration in the car than the rubber mounts?

To me the poly didn't make a difference. Normally I really dislike poly for just about anything, I have no idea why I got it  :notsure: but it's working fine so far. It took a little doing to install, things were real snug take your time it'll go together.

Um..No that is junk

Actually the metal bracket is now perfect for the poly mount  :bigthumb:

Yup, thinking that's what I will do. Two for two.  First motor mounts didn't come close to being right, now the trans mount is crap.
