water pump question

I bought a water pump at the Indy swap meet 2 years ago.  We are almost to the point of installing it on the engine.  I realized that the Mopar pump can be disassembled. This is not like a GM pump.  Are there serviceable parts that I should refurbish before installing it and trying it out?

The seal can go bad if in storage too long.

No , the water pump can be separated from the housing which is great for easy replacement but there is nothing servicable in there just a gasket between the 2 parts

Not easy to find. But their are companies that rebuild them, so there are rebuild parts out there.
Mopar used to sell rebuild kits at their parts departments and there are NOS parts out there.
Usually only guys doing 1000 point restorations would take the time and expense of rebuilding the original pump as they are not a high dollar item.
