The picture shows two different styles of 440 water pump housings. I think the top one is most common in cars. My 79 Power Wagon has the bottom style. What was the normal application for that style? Trucks? Motor homes? How common are they?

I am using the lower (Passenger side) style on my 73 Cuda was a 340 installed a 440 and the radiator outlet is on the passenger side. I did not want to replace the radiator because it was a A/C car that already had the larger factory radiator and fan shroud.

Mr Cuda

It's just a year change.
Top is up to 72. Bottom is 73 up to 79.
Non stock engine application?
Use what fits.

I'm using the lower one. I was lead to believe it was a truck vs passenger car thing?  :notsure:
I guess with Mr Cuda's response, makes sense as I don't think any cars had BB after 73-74?
