Which Traction Bars ?

Who sells the best quality traction bars ? Everyone's pics look the same.  I know there's better ways, but I want the old school look.  :D

I'm trying to remember who made the ones I had. I think they were Lakewood. Summit sells a generic brand as well. Hope that helps!  :cheers:

Only one brand to own....  These are early square tube bars with the J bolts, around 72 they went to rectangular tube...

Not really effective on a Mopar, but if you like the look....go for it.  :bigthumb:

They actually work great, much better than waiting for the leafs to wrap so hard that the pinion snubber hits the floor..     :haha:

I've got a set that look like Lakewood that I would let go cheap.

If set up correctly they work just like a pinion snubber. I plan to run a set on my road runner for the "day two" look and they will be set up to contact the front spring eye, not the leaf. I may also cut them down height wise in the front for better ground clearance.

Thats' why you ditch the stock snubber for an adjustable race version. Then the leafs don't have to wrap.

True, but most don't set these up correctly and they end up bending a leaf because they just bolted them on.

Slapper bars work on the same principle as a snubber; axle rotation puts the snubber/slapper in contact with the heavier car body which then drives the tires into the ground as torque tries to lift the car's body. Both set up properly for racing will create noise and thumping when used on the street. Both set up to be quiet on the street won't be as effective at the track. Slappers reduce ground clearance, snubbers don't. Snubbers can hammer a hole through the driveshaft tunnel, slappers can bend leaf springs. Pick your poison.

 anybody have these attached on a (TA) ? I like to install them just for looks. Not sure if they can... due to the side exit exhaust.

Looking at pics the exhaust bends around the front spring hanger so should be plenty of clearnace.

Only thing I could find.  The exhaust looks a lot farther forward then stock doesn't it?
