Will 318 poly valve covers fit on an la motor? Asking because they have some really cool old school finned valve covers available for the poly, but not so much for the la.

Some background, I'm going to be rebuilding my stock 318 to put into a t-bucket project and would like to get an old school look out of it. Figure may as well have an engine stand I can drive!

Nope, 2 Bolt holes in each to aid in removal for "valve lash adjustment"

Some engine parts interchange but the valve covers are completely different looking.

I've seen adapter plates on the market where you can bolt Hemi valve covers to a SB Chevy.  You might be able to do something like that on a SB Mopar.

The short blocks are similar, but the heads are completely different with the poly being what we used to call a "semi hemi" and the lower edge of the head is scalloped in waves. sorry, no can do.  :console:
