I have three cases of old matchbox cars from the 60-70 era. Does anybody know where I could get info on pricing. I did google and found a few articles but looking for some expert opinions.
Thanks

Not an expert. I have similar situation though with matchbox and some 80s Craftsman wood working tools (routers and accesories).

I ususally check ebay and filter on sold / completed auctions. This way you can see what they went for vs what was being asked.
Should give rough idea of values.

My friend who collects everything ALWAYS uses eBay past auctions has his price guide :ebay:

I know nothing about it, but just did a quick search on Amazon for a "Matchbox price guide" and a dozen books came up  :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I went to a Matchbox car show at the AACA museum a few months ago in Hershey Pa. Couldn't believe how many people were there and how high some of the prices were! And I did find a Cuda I didn't have 🤣

I have a collection of some old and new Matchbox and Hot Wheels as well as HO slot cars. There are price guides but the market is always changing. Like Alan said e-bay SOLD listings or maybe join a web forum Facebook group for Matchbox.

When I was selling some toys, I sold a few matchbox cars.  If they were not in original packaging . . not many were worth much.  The ones I could not sell, I donated to a church for the kids right before Christmas.

I do have my small bag of cuda's that I have found over the years stashed away.
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

:iagree: I think most Matchbox collectors want mint with the box, most all of mine are trashed from being played with in the sandbox or crashed on the track.

I have all mine from when I was a kid.  Found this when I was going through them when my son wanted to see them.  Pretty kool it survived from 1979.

Thank You for all the advice. Mine are not new. I did google and found some prices. Almost had another heart attack when I found one that I had sold for $11,000.00. After reading the article it turns out that it was painted tan which was a pre production color and very few were made. Mine is silver which was normal. DAMN.

That's pretty sweet. I imagine if you're trying to turn them for some cash, you'll find plenty of interested buyers. I might be inclined myself once you find what the pricing is. Would love to see some pics either way.

I have 86 total. Here is a list of them. Not interested in selling one or two. All go in one package. So far I have check a couple of them on EBAY that SOLD for prices between $7.99 to $98.00.
