So I got sucked into working on my neighbors boat.... 95 Cobalt 20" with a 350 Chevy....  I looked it over three months ago, the carb was dumping fuel.... I pulled the top off the carb, found debris & told him i'll need a kit....here it is months later, he got a kit & while waiting he pulled the carb off his engine & cleaned it up....  along with taking it apart further...  Well today was the day I would get it back together... Except I have a clip I don't recall ever seeing in a Q jet.... Mind you it's been 30+ years since I dug into one.... Anyway, anyone recognize this?

When I get stuck with a carb I first turn to @ScottSmith_Harms   Maybe he knows?   :fingerscrossed:

Yup, I've pestered Scott before... Being a Q jet I don't know if he works on them & being a Marine version might effect it too.....

A lock for A fuel line? I just used clips just like those on A transmission cooler on A jeep renegade.

It does kind of look like that, I'm thinking it doesn't belong to the carb at all but figured I'd post this & someone would pop in with an answer that proved me wrong....

I've spent 30 minutes searching Quadrajet clip images & saw nothing like it.....

Has a shape like the float wire is the closest I saw.

Well the float along with it's wire is already installed..... So unless I hear otherwise I think I'm good..

Actually looks like what I need, cooler line retainer on a Chevy radiator cooler line

That sure looks like it.... Thank You!!

Never been a GM guy, done very little work on them & prefer to keep it that way... Lots of guys do work on them so they can have them...  Don't get me wrong, I like plenty of vintage GM's... Just don't want to work them...

JS29 had it figured out first as the cooler line retainer .
I just happened to be looking on ebay as I may need to do a radiator replacement .
