Going to be moving up that way in a couple months, just want to know what the car scene is like.   :rebelflag"

I lived close to WS for many years, the car scene is big there. You will see all types, and you wont be far from Charlotte N.C. I have several friends that live in WS. Nice town

Thanks @Timbbuc2 , that's good news. I'm looking around at real estate in the little towns like King, Walnut Cove, etc. Sister lives in Germanton. I can't wait to get out of Fl.   :rebelflag"

I know all of those towns, use to go through them all the time, thats good living in those areas.

I was looking at the WS craigslist, most old cars had very little rust. I'm assuming no salt ?

Get a pretty good amount of snow in that and surrounding areas, most of you older cars had undercoating. That was big back in the day. And DOT uses the heck out of salt.

Well, considering that over 1000 people a day move to Fl. is a start. Traffic is always heavy. It can take an hour to go 20 miles in Orlando. Just to name a few.  Then there's the crime. You have to constantly be aware of your surrounding anytime you leave the house. And gangs, yep we got em.

I just want to spend my retirement in a more country atmosphere. Where you have a change of seasons, country roads, old time towns, etc.  :alan2cents:

really? by what I've been seeing up here in CO the last few years we seem to be getting @ 1000 ex-Floridians moving up here weekly  :bricks:
Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Well I'm in Phoenix this week, nobody should be moving here....

I have lived on east side of Orlando for the past 15 years; love it here. Traffic is nothing compared to large cities. Crime is confined mostly to a few areas that most sane people stay away from. Car scene is great with shows every weekend, put on by cruisinorlando.com. There must be something right in Florida as our population continues to grow; I wish more people would resettle someplace else before it really does become too crowded down here. Carolinas are beautiful, but don't bash Florida if it wasn't right for you.

  OK, no more Fl. bashing.    :-X

Skid Row

Excellent location, I-40 gets a little busy during Morning & Quitting times but the "Country" area is good people.
